Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories - Stay

Still the only unsigned artist to chart a #1 hit. It does help when you’re friend with a Hollywood actor who sticks your song on a movie soundtrack. Still, one of my favorite songs and the first artist I ever saw in concert.

Lisa Loeb - The Way It Really Is (Live)

maybe I am
hiding in my confusion
maybe we’re just a picture in my head
maybe what if it could be
the way I wish it really was
maybe I don’t wanna see it
the way it really is

Lisa Loeb - Snow Day

“I find it sad and uplifting at the same time. It’s about having a bad day, but also having something there to make it better in the end. In the phrase “you’re my medicine” I use the image of medicine because it’s something you can take that will make you feel better. When I was a little girl in Texas, snow days were supposed to be bad things because the city would shut down, but of course we loved them. I especially like singing this because it says, “You’re not too tired for this life. It’s not gonna matter if you fall down twice.” Sometimes you need someone to tell you that it’s okay that you’re depressed or that you messed up — even if you’ve done it before. But you also need someone to shake you out of your weariness. “ - Lisa Loeb

Lisa Loeb- Wishing Heart

And if we all leap before we crawl, we might fall
and it’s not always candy spun from head to heart
and it’s not always meant to be
and it’s not always up to me

You have to understand that growing up, I really liked Lisa Loeb songs.

Lisa Loeb - Snow Day

You’re not too tired in this life
and it’s not gonna matter if you fall down twice

The first concert I ever saw, was Lisa Loeb at Blueberry Hill in University City, MO back in December of 2000. As one of my favorite artists as a kid, I didn’t manage to get up closer to see her, though I probably could have. It was a packed house though and she did great work.

Lisa Loeb - This

First concert I ever bought a ticket to, was a Lisa Loeb show at Blueberry Hill in St. Louis in late December of 2001. While her style has waned on me now, as a kid, I was probably too into her cerebral singer-songwriter style. Those first two albums flood my brain with memories galore.
