Dear G-ds of Rock & Roll:

You apparently didn’t talk to the Goddess of weather, because she felt it necessary to snow this weekend. But not snow where I am, because that’d be too logical. Instead, you make it snow along my entire path to Boulder the weekend of the Alabama Shakes show. You know, that thing I’d been looking forward to for several weeks.

We’ll negate the fact that there was no one to go with me and instead, complain about this misfortune (#firstworldproblems) and note that rather than just let the tickets go to waste, I gave them away. Ok, so one of them did actually offer to mail me a check.

But whatever, Rock and Roll G-ds. Perhaps this is just some kind of penance for being able to see Two Gallants in Rapid City back in September. Or for that time you let me see Mos Def & Jay Electronica for free. And that time I got to see Laura Veirs for free thanks to Gigbot a few years back.

It’s me sending good vibes into the universe. Because if I don’t think of that way, I’ll be bummed the fuck out. And trust me, I don’t need to be anymore bummed than I am these days.

So instead, I’ll just be happy that I sent some good music karma into the universe. We’ll save my lament about this region’s aversion to rock salt some other day. It’s too early in the day for that right now.
