somethingchanged:
Twitter and Tumblr are perfect platforms on which to broadcast a wry or ironic observation calculated to make both friends and strangers with a similar sense of humour to you raise their eyebrows in a microexpression indicating agreement and acknowledgement, smile, or even LOL. But there’s always some stranger who knows nothing about you, the craft of humour, or the topic at...

Riffing on music + marketing = idea
I’m kicking around an idea that goes something like this:
A web + marketing practice aimed at creative types. In a way, we sort of expect musicians these days to make awesome songs, produce great and usable web sites and so forth. But my friends tell me this isn’t realistic. I think this also goes for athletes and other creative types who aren’t denizens of the art & web...

A Bachelor’s Effort To Understand Love - NY Times
I didn’t like the way she approached the article, as it seemed she was writing a personal ad for him. But, I liked a number of his quotes in it.

This is probably too much but...
if I post on someone’s status on Facebook or comment on a picture that can be viewed by my friends (aka, people who aren’t friends of the person in question) I will delete the post or comment.
More than any of the other developments on Facebook, it is this sort of silliness that I hate the most. Not because it matters or because it’s really ever anything important.
It’s...
So I was thinking...
It seems strange, at least for anyway, that the people I really miss the most are dead. I guess that makes sense, but have other people just made the impact? Or did the extent of my personal relationships peak at like 11? I don’t think so.
It just makes me more committed to being someone folks like when I’m around, miss when I’m not, but mostly just being a more thoughtful and...
Festival de Musak
I want to curate a music festival. You know, with a mish-mash of awesome bands that people haven’t quite heard of yet, maybe some films and maybe not and perhaps some discussions on technology or whatever have you. I just want to bring a bunch of interesting people from far flung places together to someplace somewhat central and have a good ol’ time.
Crazy? Probably. Doable? I seem to...

Broken Bells - The High Road
If Danger Mouse collaborates with someone on an album of nursery rhymes, it’d go platinum.

Cover Songs Pt. 4
British Singer edition, maybe? I dunno…these are always just randomly whatever’s on my mind/whatever I run into.
Sam Sparro - American Boy (Estelle Cover)
Adele - Black and Gold (Sam Sparro cover)
Corinne Bailey Rae - Steady As She Goes (The Raconteurs Cover)
KT Tunstall - I Want You Back (Jackson Five cover)
I almost cringed when I saw that she was going to do...
The beauty of tumblr
The first time I tried out tumblr, I wasn’t satisfied with it. I think my problem was what I considered a lack of flexibility. Or perhaps I wanted more out of it than it was designed to do. It’s more robust now than it was then, but even still, I’ve found this stint a lot more enjoyable than I did the first time.
A lot has changed for me, but I’m not sure that has anything...

Kathryn: do you watch the office at all?
me: no.
me: though if it meant Rashida Jones would marry me, I'd quickly reconsider.
Kathryn: haha right I think she's no longer on the show though she's in parks & recreation
essentially the same thing but not really funny
me: hmm. the people on the interwebs rave about it. i just take their word for it, but don't watch

Sucks to be someone who thought you had a meaningful encounter, but didn’t get a survey. Snap!

This is just…I dunno where you’d even start. Or what sort of interesting people you hang out with, who are responsible enough to even do this.

Volume 30, Chapter 10, Verse 23
You know, I’m feeling particularly prolific tonight for some reason. I can’t put a finger on why. I was just thinking about my output of late — in general — and I think it’s almost comical these days how I can reflect on the past as if it were a series of movies I wasn’t party to.
The thing about hitting rock bottom and consistently hating your life, is wanting...

– - Conan O’Brien
Not really a late night TV fan. But, I gotta say that he did a good job of being extremely humble about all of the hoopla. That said, the way he went about it was probably the smartest thing he could’ve done. He raises his stock on the way out the door, gets instant...
Legendary Fool Actin': 25 Prince Fight Songs
seanpadilla:
Music enthusiasts don’t like to admit when their favorite artists’ best work is behind them, but said admission can be easier to make if these artists nonetheless continue to produce work that is at least interesting. Bob Dylan will never make another Blonde on Blonde, but I can live with that as long as he keeps lusting after Alicia Keys and recording irony-free Christmas...
