Baking fail
Attempted to make White Chocolate Brownie Cupcakes. I failed. Must try again tomorrow…though I’m almost tempted to try again tonight I don’t think I feel up to it especially I need to clean up my mess from the failed attempt and then start again.
I think using rice flour was a fail, I should’ve stuck to substituting my all purpose gluten flour because it can withstand those higher temperatures...

On Time Well Spent, Pt. 1
I tend to personalize things a bit too much. I can’t put a finger on why that started, but as I notice I have to remind myself that it’s not always about you. One of the things I underestimated about being (back) in the hinterland was how much I’d yearn to have connections with real people more regularly.
It’s not to say there aren’t interesting people floating...

I’m young, so this seems uncertain to me, but I have the feeling there was something of a gap between around 1970 and 2000 (possibly later) where it was really something of bad form for a public figure to be really publicly racist. Am I wrong here?
Well dog whistle politics sort of went out of favor for a...

Art Imitates Life: A playlist →
So tonight, we were talking about Medicine for Melancholy. You know, the only mumblecore movie with black people. Anyway, the soundtrack is great and I’d forgotten about it. Some guy posted about the soundtrack and how strange it was (to him) that an indie black people movie didn’t feature any hip-hop.
I’m not sure that it really fit how the film was made. The music seemed to...
